Enter the fading glamour of post-war music halls through John Osborne’s examination of public performance and private torment.

Set against the backdrop of post-war Britain, John Osborne's The Entertainer conjures the seedy glamour of the old music halls for an explosive examination of public masks and private torment.

First staged at the Royal Court Theatre, London, only eleven months after the opening of Look Back in Anger , the play has become a classic of twentieth-century drama.

Meet Your Book Seller

A dedicated home for stage and screen.

Hi, I’m Jack, a musician, conductor and lifelong enthusiast of film and theatre. After founding The Studio Orchestra, a 70-piece orchestra celebrating the music of stage and screen, I left an eight-year career in supply chain planning to build the bookshop I’d always wished existed.

Fourth Wall was born from a frustration: books about film and theatre are too often confined to a small corner. I wanted to give plays, screenplays, behind-the-scenes books and creative craft a dedicated home - one designed for curiosity, inspiration and discovery.

If I can help in anyway then you can always reach out to me on jack@fourthwallbookshop.co.uk
