This policy is in addition to, and does not affect, your statutory rights.

Please contact us before sending your return so that we can provide the correct return instructions and a prepaid returns label.
For change-of-mind returns, a flat return postage charge of £3.50 will be deducted from your refund. If an item is faulty, damaged, not as described or incorrect, we will provide the returns label at no charge.
Alternatively, you may arrange and pay for your own return postage. Please let us know if you wish to do this. We recommend using a tracked service, as the item remains your responsibility until it reaches us.
Items must be returned within 14 days of notifying us that you wish to return them.
Under UK consumer law, you have the right to cancel an online order without giving a reason within 14 days of receiving it.
You may inspect a book as you would in a physical shop, but you should not handle it more than is reasonably necessary to establish its nature and condition. We may reduce your refund if the book’s value has been diminished through excessive handling.
For returns requested after the statutory 14-day cancellation period but within our voluntary 30-day return period, books must be unused, unread and in their original saleable condition.
Original delivery packaging should be reused where possible, but its absence will not prevent you from exercising your statutory cancellation rights. Please package returned books securely to prevent damage in transit.
Please inspect your order when it arrives and contact us as soon as reasonably possible if an item is damaged, faulty, not as described or if you have received the wrong item.
Email orders@fourthwallbookshop.co.uk with your order number and photographs of the item and packaging where possible. We will arrange an appropriate remedy and provide a prepaid returns label at no charge.
Your legal rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are not affected by this policy.
We cannot accept change-of-mind returns for:
A book sourced specially at a customer’s request is not automatically excluded from return unless it has been personalised or made to the customer’s specifications.
Sale items may be returned under the same conditions as full-price items.
These exceptions do not limit your rights where an item is faulty, damaged, not as described or otherwise does not conform to the contract.
We do not currently offer direct exchanges. If you would like a different item, please return the original item and place a new order separately.
We will let you know when your return has been received and processed.
Refunds will be made to your original payment method within 14 days of receiving the returned item or receiving evidence that it has been sent back, whichever is earlier.
Where we have provided a prepaid label for a change-of-mind return, £3.50 will be deducted from your refund. No return charge will apply where the item is faulty, damaged, not as described or incorrect.
If you cancel your entire order under your statutory cancellation rights, we will also refund the cost of our least expensive standard delivery option. Additional charges for express or upgraded delivery are not refundable.
We may withhold the refund until we have received the returned item or you have supplied evidence that it has been returned.
Your bank or payment provider may take additional time to show the refund in your account. If you have not received it after allowing for your provider’s processing time, please contact orders@fourthwallbookshop.co.uk.
If you wish to cancel an order before it has been dispatched, contact orders@fourthwallbookshop.co.uk as soon as possible. If the order has already been dispatched, you may return it in accordance with this policy.
